Model Bakery

Not wanting to spoil our lunch at Etoile, we traveled to St. Helena to have a light breakfast at model bakery. Although we had passed by the bakery many times, it was the last time we saw Michael Chiarello on Best Thing I Ever Ate about their english muffins that reminded us of this place. We walked in to a busy bakery and ordered a toasted English muffin and an almond croissant. The muffin is accompanied by strawberry jam and butter. The butter really brought out the flavor of the English muffin and it was good. I think I would want to try a non toasted one as well since it looked so fluffy. Definitely something I could see someone craving if the bakery is within walking distance of your home for a quick breakfast.

We also had a solid almond croissant. I think until we have another unbelievable one like the one at Bakery Nouveau in Seattle, an almond croissant is an almond croissant.
