Le Recrutement

Paris, FR
When people say you can save some money by renting an apartment in Paris for a week rather than staying at a hotel, its partly true. Its only partly true because mental stress caused if you get a douche of a contact in Paris who tells you he cannot meet you to give you the key until 5 hours later than the original scheduled time. So our first day in Paris was pretty terrible. I was feeling sick and we had to spend a solid three hours at Le Recrutement, a rugby cafe around the corner of the apartment. The nice thing was the service was friendly and they let us lug our four pieces of luggage into the cafe without judgement.
Mustard and bread
Thankfully they had English version menus, but the server spoke very little English so ordering was a bit of a challenge.
Roast chicken
Chu Toro went with a simple roast chicken which came with fries. We were hoping that even a simple roast chicken would be spectacular because we were in Paris, but in reality, it was just decent. A little dry and lacking flavor, we finished only half or it.
Andeouillet
I ordered the andeouillet, a sausage made from intestines and various other pork parts providing a unique texture and flavor. I've had plenty of intestines in my life growing up in a Chinese family, but it was nice to have it prepared in a traditional French form. I enjoyed the experience, but not something I ordered again during our stay.
Pomme tarte
The pomme tarte came as a part of the lunch combo and it was pretty standard.
Cafe
I really liked the little cookie that came with our espresso, but after having some awesome coffee in Naples, it didn't really compare. Not a place we planned on dining at, but it fulfilled a need at the time.

Overall 5/10
