Who is Fatty Shaddy?

You may be wondering who is Fatty Shatty and why it is the name of our food blog. Fatty Shaddy is our nickname for our Alaskan Klee Kai, Shadow. She's the pretty doggie who's winking (true story) in the "Shaddy Approved" pics denoting that a restaurant is dog friendly.

Boozee and I have always been obsessed with food, very much appreciating the entire culinary experience whether its going to a farmer's market or having a 15 course omakase (Chef's choice) meal. We've humbly dined at some pretty amazing well renowned restaurants throughout California and have always been inspired to share our food journeys. We are the couple who plans their vacations around dinner reservations that we schedule months ahead of time. We love food, we live for it and the anticipation of scoring a Saturday night reservation is exhilarating. Equally balancing out our four hour dining excursions at Michelin starred establishments is our desire to taste the food of the locals, usually cheap, regional and authentic. Whether vacationing in China, Italy or Hawaii, we seek these foods first, because usually they are the best and hardest to find.

Our lifestyle recently underwent a large adjustment when Shadow, our twenty pound mini husky, joined the family preventing us from the weekly gastronomic adventures. This lead us to seek out dog friendly restaurants and hotels that allowed us to continue our epicurean exploits. It also enabled us to realize that we should truly appreciate our blessings, document and review our meals, and share them with our friends and family to see. We are also still skeptically seeking the elusive legendary perfect meal, which probably doesn't exist, but each bite brings us closer to building our list of favorite dishes and restaurants.
