Chez MaMan

Paris, FR
One of the worst things that can happen on vacation is to get lost. Well, we were very loss in an unknown neighborhood trying to find Chez MaMan, a neighborhood favorite. By the time we found it an hour later, we were cranky and hungry and they were ready to close down.
Instead of trying to decipher the entire French menu, we asked for a recommendation, which was a traditional beef stew with rice.  It was presented table side in a large cassoulet, steaming hot with rice and vegetables.

The unfortunate thing about this dish was that it tasted like a heavier creamier version of a thai curry. It tasted totally fine, but it was just a disappointment given we had gone through such great lengths to get there.
We also shared a dessert, a bed of cherries in it's own reduction, covered by whipped cream and meringue. An interesting, simple dessert. The food was solid at best, but definitely not worth the trip.

Overall 5.5/10
